Jürgen Fritz (Germany)
Born in 1958, lives and works in Hildesheim. Jürgen Fritz has studied theatre and the science of music. He has worked as a theatre director, curator, and actor, and since 1984 as a performance artist. He has worked with Black Market International since 1985. He has shown his performances in all countries of Europe, the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. He is co-founder of the International Performance Association. The work of Jürgen Fritz is characterized by an interdisciplinary concept, in which he connects elements from music, photography, video, body art, with performative installations and productions of different kind.
His conceptual approach is characterized by an impressive concentration and precision. For which he uses simple materials such as bamboo sticks, marbles creating inspiring pictures and developing site specific works.
